There's no disappointment in Heaven,
No weariness, sorrow of pain;
No hearts that are bleeding and broken,
No song with a minor refrain,
The clouds of our earthly horizon
Will never appear in the sky,
For all will be sunshine and gladness,
With never a sob nor a sigh.
We'll never pay rent for our mansion:
The taxes will never come due:
Our garment will never grow threadbare,
But always be fadeless and new,
We'll never be hungry nor thirsty
Nor languish in poverty there;
For all the rich bounties of Heaven
God's sanctified children shall share.
(1st and 3rd verse of four author unknown.)
Heaven is a place that was created by God. New Jerusalem will abide there for ever. Our future state is said to be "For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens" ( 2 Cor 5:1)
Therefore New Jerusalem is a prepared place for a prepared people!
Jesus said In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ( John 14:2)
The disciples were taught before Calvary how to pray Our Father which art in heaven, (Mat 6:9).
The Apostle Paul speaks of a man caught up to the third heaven in (2Cor 12:2).
The first heaven is the sky where the birds fly!
The second heaven is the solar or stellar heaven, the stars and planets God created and dwell there!
The third heaven is the Throne Room or Home of the LORD God.
When we talk of going home to heaven we speak of the 'third heaven' not the universe the second heaven!
Heaven is a place for the saved child of God. It is real and can be located.
The Bible tells us to - Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.( Col 3:2) and the first commandment is And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might (Deut 6:5) So when we are to set our affection on things above. we are to set them on God, because that's where God is!
Many people look towards the treasures (material gain) in this world. These so called treasures are only temporal.
Christ saith But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: ( Mat 6:20)
Heaven is called the New Jerusalem (Rev 21, 21)
New Jerusalem is our 'mother' But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. ( Gal 4:26)
Heaven is the Father's house (John 14:2) and remains a place of rest to the people of God ( Heb 4:9)
We have heaven as 'Paradise' ( Luke 16:22; 2 Cor 12:4; Rev 2:7) a place not made of hands, but of God!
It is likened to a barn where wheat is kept ...but gather the wheat into my barn
( Mat13; 3:12)
In the first place heaven itself is immearsurable (Jere 31:37) and in the second place the present heaven the solar system will pass away and will be replaced by a new one.
The New Jerusalem is the final home of the child of God, it is equal length, width and height; that is 12,000 furloughs.
The New Jerusalem is for people who have been saved between Pentecost and the Rapture, it is the tabernacle of God and is said to be the Bride, the Lambs Wife. (Rev 21:2,9)
For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. ( Isa 57:15)
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. ( Rev 21:4)
shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it;
and his servants shall serve him:
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Although we have the devil roaming about the second and first heaven, he will not be with us in the third heaven (Rev 20:10)
We won't have the thief there also ( Luke 12:33) nor the unbelieving and fearful, the fearful being those who are afraid to trust Christ; the unbelieving are those who trust their religion instead of Christ.
Neither whoremongers, sorcerers, idolaters, and liars shall not enter heaven (Rev 21:8)
The fruits of the flesh will never enter heaven's perfection ( Galatians 5:19-21) Because we are sinners , the sinless Man the Lord Jesus Christ is going to get us there!
The sinless nature of the 'Born Again Believer' does not sin, he cannot sin because he's born of God. His soul is cut loose by circumcision , an operation made without hands!
The fruits of the flesh that are mentioned in Galatians 5, are the same sins committed in the life of the Christian, that are committed in the lives of the unsaved people in 1 Corinthians chapter six.
King David lied and murdered, and he is in Glory right now! Even if he didn't confess his sins he is still in the same place as Lot and Samson. Lot is called just and righteous in (2Peter2:7) The New Testament tell us Samson is there too ! ( Hebrews 11:32)
Many people go by James chapter two instead of Romans chapter five, because they are counting on their works to save them!
But a child of God, is still a child of God when commits sin! If all liars go in the Lake of Fire, and they do! ( Rev 21:8) then every man, woman and child goes there too!
Everyone has lied either in word, deed or thought in their lives.
Our Saviour the Lord Jesus Christ comes to the rescue!
The One who never lies will get the Born Again Believer to heaven!
The Christian is warned against these sins in Galatians 5. His flesh can produce these fruits of his unregenerate nature! But, the Christian is not a whoremonger, a sorcerer or a liar as Rev 21:8, for he has been 'cut loose' in the body of the sins in his flesh by the circumcision of Christ. (Col 2:11)
Therefore, the Christian is a saved sinner who can commit sin as part of his old nature, but he himself is a saint! and cannot fall into the classification give in Revelation 21:8
God the Father lives there
Jesus Christ went there after his ascension (Acts 3:21)
Angels and myriads of created being are up there! (Mat 18:10)
Enoch and Elijah was transported there (Genesis 5:24; Mat 17:3)
Moses is up there right now (Deut 34)
All those who died since Pentecost trusting Jesus are there (1 Thess 4:14)
Heaven is a perfect place ( Rev 22:1,2) a picture of perfect leisurely comfort, no work, no taxes. It is a place of perfect satisfaction, no temptation to sin, no devils, no unclean spirits!
It is a place of perfect provision (Rev 22:2) Everything good, gloriously provided!
No hunger, you can't get thirsty!
When Christ rose from the dead, he didn't eat because he had to, he didn't eat the bowl of fish and the honeycomb to sustain his nature, he had a Divine resurrection nature! A Glorified Body!
Heaven is a place of perfect sinlessness ( Rev 22:3) no more curse, the curse will be removed from man. Can you imagine having a body what will never wear out? No hair or teeth that falls out, eyes that don't need glasses, no need for hearing aids, no medicine required. You would never weary or get tired! No kidney trouble, no liver trouble, no cancer of in any form, the list goes on!
Heaven is place of perfect goverment. It is ruled by GOD, the Just One, the Holy One. (Rev 22:3)
New Jerusalem is a place of perfect service, serving God who is the best employer you ever had with the highest wages and the best retirement plan you ever saw!
Heaven is a place of perfect communion. (Rev 22:4) says we will see his face. Right now, no man can look at his face and live. No man can stand to look at his creation the sun! How can a man look at God?
Heaven is a place of perfect possession, we belong to him and he belongs to us, no divided loyalty!
His name shall be in our foreheads!
Heaven has no artificial light And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: ( Rev 22:5) The child of God will reign forever more, perfect joy, perfect peace. Never tempted to think, speak or act wrong again. Heaven is a place where the child of God can think, speak or do without even having to check if it's right, because it will be right!
Don't you want to go to heaven when you die?
Have you prepared?
Aren't you tired?
Haven't you had enough?
The answer is the Lord Jesus Christ!
May that be your
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Heb 11:6)
Oh think! To step ashore and that shore Heaven;
To breathe new air, and that celestial air;
To feel refreshed and know 'tis immortality.
Oh think! To pass from storm and stress
To one unbroken calm; to wake and find it Glory.
(Psalm 17:15; John 14:2)
