God's Perfect Time

By

God has laid me up for a while, I am sure it is for my good. This little study on " GOD's Perfect time" came to me and I think it may be of some interest to you.

God's Perfect Time

First of all , there is eternity past and future. We cannot begin to understand eternity but we don't have to. At the present there is time which was initiated by GOD. Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

It stands to reason that if GOD started time [and he did], it is very important to him [and to us also], that he is in complete control of time and will end time as we know it when he has predetermined it. If time is very important to GOD, should it not also be important to us? Of course it should. Some say that it is a sin to dwell on or seek to know about GOD's time table, quoting Acts 1:7 " It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the father has put in his own power." I believe that Jesus' answer at that time was a specific answer regarding the time when Jesus would restore the kingdom to Israel and that mystery would be cleared up later when GOD sees fit. It does not mean we can never know anything about GOD's timetable. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-2 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. but that is for unbelievers.  Verse 4 says, " But ye brethren are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief." This implies that we can know the time when " The day of the LORD" will come. Verse 5, " Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: We are not of the night, nor of darkness." Verse 6 commands, " Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober." For what are we watching and looking? The rapture of course. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52 Behold, I shew you a mystery;  [Note! It was a mystery to all believers until it was revealed through Paul] We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Note! If there is a last trump, there must be at least one prior trump. I submit that there will be seven trumps, the precedent set in Joshua 6:4-5 And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, [note the last trump] all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him. This looks to me like a very clear picture or type of the rapture. But I digress from my main theme, " GOD's perfect time.

Jesus came at GOD's perfect time. Galatians 4:4-5 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

Acts 17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man [ Note! Jesus] whom he hath ordained; ...

Daniel 8:19 And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

Most every bible believer is familiar with Daniel's 70 weeks and the last seven weeks. That is a long and separate study."  Daniel 11:27 And both these kings' hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed. See how the LORD has appointed specific times to fullfil all of his prophecies. Genesis 18:14 Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Genesis 21:1-2 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.

A thousand years are like one day to the LORD. Psalms 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

 2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Hosea 3:4-5 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and without teraphim: Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

Hosea 6:1-2 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

I submit unto you that the 2 days are 2000 years, the time of the gentiles, and when the time of the gentiles ends, begins the 3rd day or the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ.

In this study I have but scratched the surface. Further study of times would  encompass the entire bible with hundreds if not thousands of examples of the times appointed by our GOD. I have only dug up a few of the nuggets.

May GOD richly bless you brethren, Lawrence
